How much is a locksmith in Hinckley?

Hinckley has plenty of uPVC doors, and the usual gearboxes and cylinders come with our engineer, so a lot of jobs are finished on the first visit. You hear a fair price, plus VAT, and agree to it before anything is done. The table shows where each job begins.

    £59+ VAT

    £70.80 total

    £42 total

  • Lock or mechanism repair

Opening and fixing a failed lock or mechanism

    £70–£120+ VAT

    £84–£144 total

    More

When the door is shut and the mechanism inside has broken, how hard it is to open, and the time and skill it takes, differ from door to door. We assess it first, then give you an honest final price within this range to open and fix the door. If the door has dropped and needs realigning, that is £20 to £40 + VAT extra, or £50 to £120 + VAT for a heel and toe adjustment, depending on how far it has dropped, whether the glass needs repacking or the hinges replacing, and how heavy the door is.

Choose your lock

  • Standard cylinder

A like-for-like replacement for a worn or broken lock

    £25+ VAT

    £30 total

  • Anti-snap cylinder

Resists lock snapping, a common way into uPVC doors

    £45–£70+ VAT

    £54–£84 total

    More

An anti-snap cylinder has a sacrificial cut near the front. If someone tries to snap it, the lock breaks at that cut instead of in the centre, so the part that works the lock stays in the door and cannot be manipulated to open it.

  • High security 3-star

TS007 3-star rated, the level many insurers ask for

    £70–£115+ VAT

    £84–£138 total

    More

3-star and Diamond cylinders come with anti-drill pins, special anti-pick protection and, most importantly, advanced anti-snap heads or cuts, with reinforced protection around the centre of the lock.

Size and brand change the price. Your engineer shows you the options before fitting.

uPVC door repairs in Hinckley

We look after LE10, on the Leicestershire side of the border, from the Coventry and Nuneaton end of our patch. It is a short run from Nuneaton, which we cover regularly, so a Hinckley call can often be fitted in around nearby jobs. Your locksmith comes from the next area over, not from a shop in the town.

Worn multipoint mechanisms are a common fault on the uPVC doors here, along with handles that no longer lift into lock. Repairs like these keep us busiest, with lockouts and lock changes next. A new lock is usually wanted after a house move or a break-in. We cover the town centre and the villages around it, including Burbage, Earl Shilton, Barwell, Stoke Golding, Higham on the Hill and Sapcote.

Hinckley prices, common questions

Are you a cheap locksmith in Hinckley?
We keep our prices fair rather than chasing the cheapest headline. A standard opening starts from £59 + VAT (£70.80), with no call-out fee when the work goes ahead, and the price is agreed with you before we start. Be wary of £39 or £49 adverts: a proper job costs more than that to run, so the price tends to climb at the door. One customer came to us after another firm quoted £600 and drilled a hole through their composite door that could not be repaired. We did the full job, with new handles, mechanism and cylinder, for £260.
Does coming over from Nuneaton add anything to a Hinckley price?
No. Hinckley is part of our normal patch, and there is no call-out fee when the work goes ahead. You would only pay £59 + VAT for attendance if you said no after our engineer had assessed the job.
What does a worn multipoint mechanism cost to fix in Hinckley?
Worn multipoints come under mechanism repair, so expect £70 to £120 + VAT, with the exact figure set by what has failed inside the door. The usual gearboxes travel with our engineer, so many are fixed first time, and the price within that range is agreed before work begins.
Can I get a Hinckley price on the phone before booking?
Yes, a guide price. Describe the door and what has gone wrong, and we will give you a figure to expect. Our engineer then confirms the exact price on site before any work starts, so the number at the door is never a surprise.
