What burglary repair actually involves

Forced entry damages predictable things, and the job follows the damage.

Making it safe first. If there is a smashed panel or a door that will not shut, we board it with heavy anti-tamper boarding so nothing is left open to the weather or a second visit. This is the step that lets you sleep.

Frame, keep and strike repair. A kicked door usually splits the timber frame or bends the metal keeps that the lock bolts drop into. We repair or replace the frame section, refit or upgrade the strike plates and keeps, and reset the alignment so the door pulls up tight and the lock engages fully. A door that only half-locks is not secure.

Lock replacement after forced entry. We assess every lock the intruder touched. Euro cylinders that have been snapped or attacked are replaced, ideally with an anti-snap upgrade so the same trick does not work twice. Mortice locks and multipoint mechanisms that were stressed or jammed during the attack are replaced rather than nursed along.

Glazing and door replacement. Where a window or a glazed door panel is gone, we repair or replace the unit. Where a door is beyond economic repair, we supply and fit a replacement and align it properly.

Repair, replace, or upgrade
